Hints and Tips

Different users will have different ways of using Rolling Stock. Here are some tips for using the program.

Automatic window opening at start of program (Vehicles, Trips, Vendors, Reminders, Graphs, Maps, Appointments)

If you want either the Vehicles, Trips, Vendors, Reminders, Graphs, Maps, Appointments windows to automatically open at program start then you can activate a particular window in the Global Options, it will then automatically open the next time you start your program.

Generators

If you have a generator that runs off of your engine fuel tank, you can still get accurate fuel mileage calculations. Whenever you have run the generator, make an entry in the fuel table showing a negative gallons, leave the price and amount blank and use the odometer reading from your last fill. Estimate the gallons based on your generator specifications. For example, an Onan QD7.5KW generator will use about 1/2 gallon an hour under typical loads, so if you run the generator for 40 hours, enter -20 gallons to account for the fuel consumption. This will make your vehicle MPG calculation accurate.

If you have other appliances that run off of the vehicle fuel tank, you can handle them similarly.
